Rohan Shirur is a Florida State University biomathematics student preparing for a career in medicine with a focus on research and patient-centered care. His background combines quantitative training in mathematical biology with hands-on experience in outpatient clinical settings.
Rohan has worked as a certified clinical medical assistant across primary care, orthopedics, and gastroenterology. As a medical assistant, he supports physicians and clinical teams with patient intake, triage, clinical documentation, in-office workflows, and follow-up care under supervision. He has also served as a surgical support technician at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, supporting operating room turnover and assisting with perioperative workflows alongside nursing and surgical staff.
In addition to clinical work, Rohan has participated in undergraduate research at Florida State University and at the Georgia Tech Research Institute, including projects connected to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. He is also involved in community service through hospice care volunteering, cardiovascular health advocacy, and volunteer firefighting.
